Our 5 favorite alpine pastures in Grossarltal
1. Moar Gut Hochalm
Every Friday we, the Kendlbacher family, accompany our guests to our own Moar Gut Hochalm. We drive a little way up the alpine path by car, where we park the cars in a parking lot. We then cover the last few meters on foot. Over hill and dale, through streams, we reach the Moar Gut Alm in a short time. Once at the top, our kitchen and restaurant team are waiting to provide culinary highlights. The day is also accompanied by musical sounds. The day at 1,693m above sea level without cell phone reception promises some unforgettable vacation memories.

2. Paulhütte
A beautiful hiking trail leads directly from the hotel to the Paulhütte. This can be reached in about an hour's walk. The shortcuts through the forest make the hike even more exciting, as there are certainly one or two things to discover here.
The weekly trail ride with our Icelanders also leads to the Paulhütte. After a traditional refreshment with a Kaiserschmarren, you return to the Moar Gut on horseback.
3. Karseggalm
The oldest alpine pasture in the valley not only exudes charm, but also hospitality. The cheese produced on the mountain pasture and other local delicacies invite you to take a leisurely break.
Our tip: Try the kneaded cheese bread! A real specialty of the Karseggalm.
4. Heugathalm
A leisurely hike suitable for baby carriages leads to the Heugathalm. After a short time you reach the alp from the parking lot. There is a large playground for children and parents can enjoy refreshments on the mountain pasture.
5. Bichlalm
If you love the sun and the view, the Bichlalm is the right place for you. The “Himmelsleiter” hiking trail that leads there lives up to its name. The path leads steeply up through the forest, like a ladder to heaven. However, you will be rewarded with long hours of sunshine and a unique view from the mountain pasture!
Our tip:
Many hikes to the alpine pastures are also suitable as bike tours. Simply hire a mountain bike (with or without battery) from our in-house sports store and off you go. Our bike and hiking guide Barbara will also be happy to accompany you to one or the other mountain hut.
