MOAR GUT RECEIVES GREEN SIGN SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATE.
For today's blog we ask our questions about the certification right away to Nora Lipp, part of management, who accompanied the process and the audit and led the way.
Nora, what were your reasons for deciding to be audited by GreenSign?
Sustainability has been a big issue for us in all hotel areas for decades. So far, we have made this transparent for our guests with the hotel's own sustainability seal. An external audit of this was therefore very exciting for us.
Who would have interst in the certification?
For anyone who also pays attention to sustainability on vacation. For a long time this was a contradiction. Fortunately, through our GreenSign certification, it is now immediately apparent that a vacation at the Moar Gut is ecologically compatible, socially justifiable, close to nature and simply "green".
How does the certification process work in concrete terms?
The entire certification process was very demanding and extensive.
The audited criteria cover eight core areas for sustainable management:
- Management and communication
- Environment (energy, water and waste)
- Biodiversity & cultural heritage
- Purchasing
- Regionality and mobility
- Quality management and sustainable development
- Social responsibility
- Economic responsibility
In order to receive the certificate, the hotels must positively answer up to 90 percent of the total of 92 questions. This is checked by an independent auditor directly on site.
What does the certificate mean to you?
We are very proud of the GreenSign certificate! For years we have been showing that luxury vacations for families and sustainable travel are possible. Now this has been officially confirmed to us by a neutral audit.
Of course, this motivates us to focus our sustainability thoughts even more in the future.
Stay tuned!
